The Korean pianist Julius-Jeongwon Kim is a regular guest with many world-renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony, the London Symphony, NDR Symphony, the Czech Philharmonic, State Symphony Capella of Russia, Budapest Philharmonic, Prague Radio Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Warsaw Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Danish Radio Symphony, and many others. In Korea, he hasperformed with the Seoul Philharmonic, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra and other major orchestras led by great maestros such as Myungwhun Chung, Sung Kwak, Eunseong Park, and Chiyong Chung.
Julius-Jeongwon Kim performed at the International Chopin Festival and the Beethoven Easter Festival (Warsaw), the Verbier Festival (Switzerland), and the International Piano Echos Festival (Italy).
Active as a chamber performer, he collaborated with various chamber orchestras and ensembles like the Berlin Philharmonic String Quartet, the Janacek String Quartet, the Shanghai String Quartet, and the MIK ensemble with violinist Soovin Kim, cellist Young Song, and violist Sang-Jin Kim.
As a recording artist, he has released more than 10 albums of solo works, concertos, and chamber music, which include Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 5, Mozart’s Piano Concerto no 21 and Chopin’s 24 Etudes. Most recently, he performed the 21 complete Schubert Piano Sonatas, six of which were recorded and released by Deutsche Grammophon. He gave the final performance at the Seoul International Music Festival where he premiered Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 5 (arrangement of the composer's Symphony No. 2 by A. Warenberg) which was later performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and recorded by Deutsche Grammophon.
Julius-Jeongwon Kim is the musical director of NAVER's ‘V Salon Concert’, the first classical streaming service in Korea.
